Client Spotlight: Perry's Cave

During the warmer months in Northern Ohio, thousands of families flock to the Lake Erie shores and ferry over to a perennial favorite destination: Put-in-Bay. This charming island is famous for its food (it's THE place to go for Lobster Bisque), nightlife, and a variety of entertaining venues for both kids and adults alike.

One notable spot is Perry's Cave, named for the natural limestone cave that winds 52' underground and is listed as an Ohio Natural Landmark. The attraction also offers activities ranging from mini golf and rock climbing to gemstone mining and a walk-through butterfly house.

Into the depths of Perry's Cave
This week, Perry's Cave debuted a brand new website at www.perryscave.com. While WDD had designed the previous site, changing technology — especially the rise of mobile traffic — led to a brand new, responsive layout.

Looks great on tablets and smartphones, too!

For visitors to the site, each of the individual attractions now have updated pages with full-width, dominant imagery that really captures the experience. New layouts with stronger typography and color palettes also help focus more on sales and promotional opportunities.

Perry's Cave is also a hub for transportation around the island, offering bikes and carts for rent as well as a tour train with multiple stops. In an effort to improve SEO for the core business activities, the transportation options were shifted to separate websites, simplifying the core selling points the perryscave.com domain had to engage in.

You can visit Perry's Cave when they reopen for the season next April, until then check out their awesome new site today!
